MATERIALS MANAGER

Prerequisites

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • College Degree preferred in appropriate field
  • 5+ years of Materials experience
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems with focus on GM systems
  • Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting
  • Valid driver’s licence as some travel may be required
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Effective leadership skills required
  • Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • No criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted
  • Successful completion of aptitude test
  • Pass company medical

General Responsibility

  • Conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Collaborate with other managers to determine needs of customer
  • Purchase supplies and materials according to support team
  • Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures
  • Develop and execute inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies
  • Supervise, evaluate, and coach materials team
  • Maintain relationships with customers and LLP representatives
  • Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systems
  • Prepare reports on inventory, material usage and efficiency
  • Support in the resolution of labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions
  • Create strategic solutions to improve material flow at multiple levels
  • Perform other duties, as necessary.

Direct Responsibilities

  • Resolve end-user IT issues, such as password reset, software questions, PC hardware problems, Internet connectivity, configurations, and so on
  • Diagnose and resolve minor network issues (e.g. LAN access)
  • Provide one-on-one end-user support and problem resolution via telephone, e-mail, and other vehicles of communication
  • Participate as a team member on projects involving servers, databases, applications and infrastructure
  • Accurately log work orders/IT tickets and resolutions into IT software management system; maintain vigilant maintenance of this process
  • Conduct timely repair of IT equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements
  • Compile, maintain, and file all repair records, reports, and other documents as required
  • Travel to branch offices as required
  • Afterhours support as required
  • All other duties as assigned
